Test For Heart Disease

Heart is a vital part of the body the failure or damage to which result in the death of the person. Heart disease affects the body and lifestyle of a person severely. Thus, it is very essential for keeping the heart healthy in order to live a longer and happy life. Any discomfort in the heart should not be ignored at any cost and must be reported immediately to the doctor or a heart specialist. There are a number of tests that diagnose heart disease. The doctor will carefully go through the patient’s medical history and also a brief check up of blood pressure. After the check up is done, the doctor may prescribe any of the tests that are mentioned below.

ECG or Electrocardiogram provides a graph of the heart’s beat and rate of activity. Through this test, any abnormal activity like abnormal heartbeat damage to heart muscle or any problem in the blood flow or the arteries. Heart enlargement can also be detected through this test.

Exercise ECG or treadmill test records the heart’s activity during physical activity mostly on an exercise bike or a treadmill. During this test, the changes in the rate of the heart beat are recorded and then studied carefully to diagnose heart disease. If a person feels uncomfortable during the physical activity it denoted that there is some problem.

Nuclear scan is also known as thallium stress test which shows the activity and performance of the heart muscle when the blood passes through it. During this test, a meager amount of a radioactive substance is inserted in the veins by injecting it. This substance is generally inserted in the arm and a camera keeps a track of the amount of substance that is taken by the muscle of the heart.

Echocardiography shows the entire picture of the heart’s shape, size and even movement. This test converts the sound waves into photo which is very helpful in diagnosing the problems that one is facing in the heart. This test is very useful in finding out the amount of blood that is pumped out from the heart after it contracts.

These tests work well in diagnosing any heart disease. One should go for it without delay in order to detect heart disease and start the treatment.
